SUMMARY:
Track & Trail Adventures prides itself with world-class educational opportunities in unique settings. As such, all of our events are accredited by universities or professional associations.
Every Track & Trail adventure will appeal to a particular group of professionals, yet will intrigue discerning members of other groups. We will always be seeking accreditation from the professional body that encompasses the greatest number of professionals from our target audience.
Take for example the upcoming Track & Trail 2010’s Orthopedic Surgery Update at Northern Escape Heli-skiing. This conference will be accredited by the Canadian Orthopedic Association. Thus, all Canadian Orthopedic Surgeons will be able to claim “Section 1 credits” with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC). American delegates will receive the same of number credits from the American Orthopedic Association. The reverse is true as well. A conference accredited by the American Orthopedic Association will be fully recognized by the Canadian Royal College.
Should a dermatologist decide to attend one of our emergency medicine conference (or vice-versa), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada will recognize credits from another discipline as “section 4 credits: a Personal Learning Project”. Such attendees will be expected to establish a personal learning project within the Royal College’s website. Track and Trail Adventures will provide the attendee with a complete “accreditation package”, which will include curriculum outline and learning objectives. Attendance of the conference is regarded by the RCPSC as completion of the “personal learning project”. This holds true whether the conference is accredited in Canada or the United States.
Should a family physician attend a conference accredited by a Canadian or American specialist body, the CME credits would have to be submitted to the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP). Those credits are fully recognized. Track and Trail Adventures will provide such physicians with a complete accreditation package.
Should a specialist wish to attend a conference directed at Canadian Family Physicians, the conference needs to be pre-registered as “a personal learning project” to obtain Section 4 credits from the RCPSC. Once again, Track and Trail Adventures will provide attendees with an “accreditation” package.
At Track & Trail Adventures, we realize our medical and non-medical educational events will appeal to an international clientele. Please rest assured that Track and Trail Adventures will go out of its way to assist you in obtaining the appropriate continuing education credits. Whether this means providing you with an accreditation package or contacting your respective agencies, you can count on T&T adventures’ full cooperation.
Please note that while we can guarantee our full collaboration and our best efforts to help get you CME or continuing education credits, we cannot guarantee that those will be granted. Continuing education, and particularly continuing medical education, is very complex and rules established by governing bodies are extensive. Credits will only be guaranteed for the specialty under which an educational event is formally accredited.
