Conference accredited for the provision of up to 18.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CME and Fellowship Academy of Wildnerness Medicine credits through the Wilderness Medical Society (WMS).  AMA PRA credits are fully recognized by medical colleges and governing bodies around the world.

 

An eight night live aboard scuba adventure & CME taking place on the Nautilus Explorer to Socorro Island, home to giant mantas, sharks, dolphins & humpbacks

 

Objective

 

To provide an annual opportunity for physicians and medical professionals to learn about in-the-field emergency medical situations that can arise from marine environments.  This program will provide physicians with accredited continuing medical education credits complimented by an eight night live aboard scuba adventure.

24 physicians and medical professionals- two faculty plus 22 guests; family members welcome.

Program

 

The conference venue is the Nautilus Explorer - a 117 feet deluxe vessel setting sail the morning of Jan 25, 2010.  For the full itinerary to this excursion including giant manta rays, five types of sharks and dolphin encounters, please click here. Being to the end of Jan - it is prime time for the humpback whales as well.

Our destination is Socorro Island a volcanic island in the Revillagigedo Islands, and plays home to world renowned diving. 

 

Price

 

Tuition is $685 for up to 18.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits and up to 18.5 FAWM credits accredited through the Wilderness Medical Society (WMS).

 

There are three accommodation options offered, prices listed are per person:

 

     1)   Executive Suite shared stay- two double beds (can be joined): $3450,

            room has outdoor access and is located off the hot tub deck.

     2)   Stateroom shared occupancy- two double beds (can be joined): $2950;

            located on the accommodations floor with a porthole view.

     3)   Dorm Bunks: $2450; located on the accommodations floor

 

 Stateroom Accomodations

 

Inclusions:  Accredited curriculum, eight nights aboard, all meals and beverages (alcohol extra), six days of diving with four dives per day.

 

Additional Charges:

Port charges $65 pp, nitrox ($120) and steel tanks as opposed to aluminum ($32) and all flights
